Solar powered devices created by Suntek Labs. They've been prominent in Paragonian society for decades.
Helions are high-tech watches that bring out energy out of their users, often granting abilities that reflect their psyche. The user's abilities can evolve over time if their inner state evolves too. They are a fairly recent invention, having only existed for approximately 80 years, but have become quite significant in Paragonian society over the years. They've also become a main mode of communication between citizens.
Helions are tied to their user's spirit and mind. The watches are able to keep track of their mental status, energy, how far they've grown, and anything of the sort, quite similar to statuses found in video games.
The energy brought out by Helions can sometimes be transformed to other types of energy, but typically only one type for each user, such as Jet's electricity and Rigan's sound. Not all Helion users can convert the energy drawn out to other types.
The energy is also able to exert force. They can cause impact, but never cause direct harm. See: Safety Measures
Objects can be created and formed by Helions, such as Elise's crystals and Cosmo's summoning. The objects are all virtual projections and use up Sol Power when formed. These objects can also interact with other objects created by Helions. They are able to cause impact on non-living objects, but cannot cause any physical harm to living beings. However, they are able to lower others' Lifeforces.
Examples of this are Lorenzo's Helion not actually corroding people's skin when activated, but is able to corrode objects such as Cosmo's cards and Cori's disco ball. They can also react with Joichi's water and Charlotte's sludge-based monsters.
As shown by Cosmo and Elise's Helions, they are able to create spaces of their own which can be travelled to via wormholes.
Helion watches are able to transport others to places immediately but only to places they've been to. For a location to be available, the wearer must link with a Helion Terminal to record its location within the device. Most areas have their own Helion Terminal.
The usage of Helions can be very versatile. They were initially created to monitor the wellbeing of patients outside of physical aspects, but further advancements have been made to be suited for other purposes as well, such as presentations and communication. The implementation of holographic projections based on scans of the users' brains prompted experimentation of making objects be able to interact with each other, in turn leading to the creation of Helion-based sports that involve combat.
Helion watches are able to call, send instant messages, host group chats and as well as host social media platforms. Video calls also use holographic technology. Outside of communication, the most well known usage of Helions are their presence The Solar Plexus tournament. They are mainly used for the combat and competitive aspect of the tournament. They are also capable of instant transportation.
Helion watches are designed to never cause any physical harm to any living being. They are intentionally made to be able to detect life force, even within beings that are not Helion users such as animals. Malfunctions are very rare, and oftentimes errors are easy to spot beforehand, so any harm is easily prevented.
Modifications of Helion watches to be able to harm others is illegal and considered assault. It may result in a fine of up to $5,000, or imprisonment for a decided period of time depending on the severity of the case.
