The Solar Plexus Tournament is an annual race/point-gathering event that occurs in Paragon every summer, hosted by the Paragonian government and sponsored by Suntek Labs. While a test of speed is not the main aspect of the tournament, the time limit is what makes it a race.
Competitors form teams of three to participate in the Solar Plexus Tournament. The goal is to gather as many points as possible during the duration of the tournament, which is done by completing challenges/tasks or winning helion battles against other competitors. There are three award categories, and each category awards the top 3 teams.
Awards are split into four categories:
Helion watches keep record of their respective users’ age categories, allowing challenges and battles to be kept within their categories, and as such there is no need for them to be separate. This allows all age categories to take part in the tournament at the same time.
Each island has their own challenges that add up to the total score of each team, and each phase requires a specific amount of points to be marked completed. There will be stations at every island where participants scan their Solar Passes to keep track of their progress.
Once an island phase is completed, a badge will be awarded digitally in the team’s Helion watches. A preview of the tournament badges for the year 999 will be added soon!
Challenges are accessed via Trial Terminals, which are solar powered monitors that allow participants to scan their Solar Passes and project holographic obstacles and areas similarly to how Helion watches do. Trial Terminals are usually situated in vast spaces to allow more room for movement for both the obstacles and the participants. Lifeforce can only be drained by an obstacle when a Trial Terminal challenge is activated.
Battles are often initiated between participants by linking Helion watches. They can end in a draw when both participants agree to call a draw, or when Lifeforce hits 0 on one party. Participants can only drain the Lifeforce of other participants when they both agree to battle.
The starting point and the order of islands they visit for the tournament is completely left up to participants. Though traditionally, participants usually travelled clockwise from their home island.
Participants can finish different islands simultaneously, i.e. leaving for Cassiopeia from Welkins to finish challenges there, then coming back to Welkins to finish the point quota there.
